Tourists flock to San Francisco to enjoy the culture and cuisine of one of America's top cities. Of course a visit to the City by the Bay wouldn't be complete without a trip to Ghirardelli Square. A cute 1950's themed diner, Lori's Diner, is not only one of my favorite restaurants but also home to my third favorite french toast. Whether you're coming from just over the bridge or over seas, it's hard not to fall in love with the view of the Golden Gate from the ceiling to floor windows. The service is fa-nominal and the menu is extensive. For my fellow French Toast lovers, Lori's is equipped with powdered sugar, cinnamon, and butter on the side. The creamy egg batter recipe was made famous in the west coast train dining cars of the 30's and 40's. This french toast leaves your mouth watering for more and I guarantee you'll want to come back.
