Coming in hot at number 4
An all time Marin favorite, Sol Food is always a good option. What I didn't know until recently, however, is that their menu is a little more extensive than I thought. At the top of the laminated menu is a breakfast section; and just a few items down happens to be Pan Frances (French Toast). This coconut milk fried bread is easily one of the most delicious things that I've ever experienced. In fact, I think my plate was licked clean in under ten minutes. The Pan Frances was a perfect combination of caramelized crust and a soft gooey middle. The coconut milk and powdered sugar was just the right amount of sweet (and there was real maple syrup on the side for anyone who wants to go extra crazy). For these reasons I place Sol Food's French Toast at number 4 on my quest for the worlds best french toast. I also greatly recommend the iced coconut latte which comes served in an mason jar for anyone who needs a little more help waking up in the morning.
